SO BASICALLY, these are the characters I'm currently interested in trying out with this journal! I've only got one icon for each because haha why bother making more if they don't work out past voicetesting right. This is basically to see if I really want to like, put the resources into making a journal because I feel really bad about taking good journal names and not doing anything with them! Or journal names at all. So this is how I can weed out who I do and don't want to go the distance with. Plus it makes it easier if I'm tagging on mobile.

POMMERN | Granblue Fantasy |
A proud imperial commander who's basically an early-game midboss (that kills the main character, basically, before they're revived by the local mysterious waif) turned stuffy and serious but pretty nice uncle. Definitely ruthless when it comes to the imperialism bit, but has a soft spot for the citizens of his country and helping out kids and old ladies, even if he's kind of grumpy about the kids part.
...sadly while I love his character and want to try him out, man I've gotta say it's really hard to deal with canon reviewing this canon. The wiki is useless for that kind of thing! I actually have read the manga by now, at least, and I feel like he's the sort of character who isn't that difficult to parse out, but maybe I should actually watch the anime to get caught up. Maybe that'd help. I don't know. |

GOREDOLF MUSICK | Fate/Grand Order |
A pompous aristocratic millennial who makes a lot of bad decisions because he's kind of an idiot. On the other hand, he's not too bad of a leader in terms of trying to keep his team alive, and there's some genuine kindness under his bluster... which, uh, is actually a liability in his fucked up society. It's fine after said society and the rest of human history has been wiped off the face of the earth, though. Likes race cars and femme fatales.
Honestly the biggest issue here is canon reviewing and also Fate/. I also feel like I need to watch Apocrypha because his dad's in it and I want to have context for his family history even if that's an alternate timeline... and I need to look up the Benienma event because I didn't actually manage to finish it. |

THE BUILDER | Dragon Quest Builders |
The sort of person who, upon being told she has a holy mission from the literal goddess of her world, says that she doesn't care about all that and just wants to build things. Not the hero... but again, she doesn't care. The builder does what the builder wants, and is pretty irreverent towards everyone and anyone. Though, given everyone gives her flack for her vacant stare, is it any wonder...
The Builder is an interesting silent protagonist case where she's not so much a blank slate as she is a second person protagonist. She's informed by a lot of characters' reactions to her, and since I didn't actually speak to Everyone I'm wondering if I missed something... on the other hand, being distracted from talking to everyone by virtue of wanting to spend time building stuff feels in character. Doesn't have an official name, so I will call her Roberta for the joke. |

HADES | Hades |
(Hades) (Hades) (Hades)
Anyway, the big man himself. The stern, emotionally constipated god of the dead who misses his wife, Tails. He misses her a lot. Actually very responsible and maybe cautious to a fault, but he's very easily frustrated and tends to take that frustration out on others rather than dealing with it himself.
Honestly... he seems like he'd be fun and I think I could pull him off, but Hades is kind of a lot. The game, I mean. There's just so much. |

GOLD SHIP | Uma Musume |
A very capricious horse girl who likes Rubick's Cubes and board games. She's a hardcore prankster, although she specifically targets people she's extremely fond of... and is the sort of person who will kidnap someone by shoving them in a burlap sack to take them to join her track team. Despite all this and despite her apparent desire to take the spotlight, she's surprisingly loyal to her friends and will try her best to help them with their dreams, even if their dreams seem pretty unreachable.
I still kinda want to play the meme horse, but there's so much stuff that just isn't super accessible about the canon now that the phone game's out in Japan. |
